He was considered an idol, a God, who walked among mere mortals. Till he was not anymore.

It’s funny how the media/internet works. Until last week, they wouldn’t stop talking about the resurgence and importance of the longest serving Manchester United player, Ryan Giggs, about how he’s the most decorated player in the Premier League history.

His media image was squeaky clean. Family man. Never picked a single red card in his career with United. Was never involved with the hoopla surrounding all the ‘overpaid’ premier league stars. His off field personna, is what most footballers and sportspersons alike, aspire to achieve. And then, BAM !

When I was told today that the footballer who had filed an injunction was Giggs, my first thought was that my roomate is playing a prank on me. I refused to believe him. But, apparently, it’s true. And he, being a United supporter was quite flabbergasted too. He told me, it’s Giggs ! This is the sort of thing you would expect from Ronaldo, Rooney, Terry, Cole even Nani but Giggs ? He is a player belonging to a different generation. Different class. It was quite shocking.

But then as I thought about it, the realisation dawned upon me. The only reason why this is so shocking is because WE have put him on this pedestal. WE consider him more than a man. WE consider him a God. He never claimed to be any of that. He is, after all, human. And that gives him the right to make mistakes.

I’m not trying to defend him in anyway or say that it’s alright since it’s Giggs, but in all honesty, does the fact that he had an affair change the fact that he is a phenomenal footballer ? Does it change the fact that he is a True Red and has dedicated his career to United ? Does it change the fact that he IS a Legend ?

P.S. You can’t really blame him completely

She is quite hot !

Kicking in the back seat !

It seems like forever since I’ve played some music or jammed with someone. And to tell you the truth, it has been forever ! With so much happening around here in the last few days, music seems to have been pushed to the back. And when I sit in my free time and think about it, it’s kinda upsetting. But with friends leaving and the football season drawing to an end, it has been hard to make time for ze music.

And with Aditto gone today, The Hofmann Chronicles seems like it might have encountered it’s end. But fear not, for all our ‘fans’ will have some more tracks soon, when we try to battle our boredom during the vacations. Though, with all of us in different cities, it might be a herculean task. :P

Apart from that, I just realised that I lost a buttload of lyrics. I had saved them in my BB and the rest, as they say, is history. Yeah, this has nothing to do with all of this, but just thought I’d throw it out there.

Time for a gritty reboot.

After all this while, I finally remembered I have a blog, thanks to my good friend Rama. So, while sitting at my laptop at 5 a.m. with nothing to do, I decided to update my so-called blog.

Looking at the other posts I made, I can hardly believe how much things have changed. It’s been nearly 2 years since that post and the difference is unmistakable. For starters, I refuse to believe that I was the one who typed those previous entries. The grammar is atrocious.  Apart from that, I’m an engineer and have a job. Yay me !

What a remarkable two years they have been ! Played quite a few shows with my band, Animus. The highlight definitely being the show in Goa, where opened for Thermal And A Quarter. And on a personal note, the cover of Closer by Kings of Leon. :)

And boy, do trips to Goa rock or do they rock ? I managed to go to Goa thrice in the last 2 years and one more trip might just be looming. And the best part was that every trip was with a different bunch of people. Fun times !

7th semester in college was just a blur. Listening to people talk about placements, internships, how much they were gonna miss Manipal and of course, the crazy placement parties at Deetee.

Bangalore trip also happened recently, well, not recently, about 3 months back. It was kick ass.

On a much sadder note, lost my prized blackberry, the night India beat Pakistan in the semi finals of the Cricket World Cup. Fell out of my frikkin pocket while riding my bike. On a happier note, saw India win the aforementioned World Cup. It was just amazing watching them being crowned champions.

With the end of this semester and college life approaching, things are bound to get a little crazy around here. And that’s just the way we like. Amidst all  the big things that happen, there will always be lots of small incidents that are forgotten in the dust. And I intend to chronicle these events on this blog, for myself more than anyone, because for all we know, it’s probably these small moments that might shape our life. For better or for worse.

Revenge of the Fallen !!

So today i went to the RTO to get my license made…if i had any idea wat i wud have accomplished by the time i was typing was this, i wud have been scared…very scared…anywayz it started of as a regular day…woke up at around 11 am and realised that i had to head to the RTO to get my license…so i rushed to get dressed and stuff…but when i had to leave i realise dat i cant find the form they had given me which i had to bring for the license…so i ransacked all the suitcases (i hate livin out of suitcases) and after goin through every thing i own…turns out the form was in my laptop bag… :-(

Lemme first describe the RTO…it has this huge gate with “agents” sittin outside with tables and umbrellas…if u want ur license like really quick, u pay these guys a lil “commission”…so i had used one of these guys to get my learners license and he told me to give him a call when i wanted to get my permanent one…so when i went dere and he was at the entrance and was like i will take this much cash and then this other agent comes and offered to do it for half price and so the original guy totally lost it…started screamin and shit….nevertheless i went in and the place was covered in muck and water..not a pretty sight…after submittin the forms and stuff the guys asked me to wait for a while till they got stuff sorted out…so after 15 min he comes and tells me dat so u have to give a test and i was like fine…but boy was it not fine when he handed me the vehcile… :-(

He gave me the key and there in front of my eyes stood my arch nemesis, a Honda Activa :o …now most ppl know wat happened the last time i rode one…for those who dont, i was ridin one in Goa and crashed it big time…it was totalled…and so when i saw one i was like frick !! wat the hell am i gna do…i was like sweatin big time…the agent guy asks me u know how to ride and i was like yeah…then he asks me why are u lookin so scared then…and i was like is it dat obvious….i was all like i need license for geared vehcile so shudnt i ride a bike and he was like no probs ride this only…so i resigned to my fate…the inspector comes to me and was like go till the end of the road and take a u turn and get back here…but the end of the road was more like underwater…with water reachin up to the ankles…anywayz so i decide its now or never… and get on with it…i reach the end of the road and right when i am in the water puddle the activa decides to turns off !! i had no idea wat to do…in between the test my vehcile turned off…i was like i am so screwed…so i was like wat the hell might as well finish the round and start the demon again…and then it decides to turn of again after  a while but i manage to reach the end and get a thumbs up frm the instructor…so it was all cool…the activa had given up :-)

Or so i thought…after all the testin and stuff was done the agent took his activa and while ridin it slipped and fell on its side…it had its victim…but luckily it wasnt me…for i had risen from the  ashes to tame the beast that is an Activa… :P

And So It Begins…

Well, it really was inevitable…and so here it is, a blog i can call my own :P … to strike down on injustice and wrongdoers with a venegance…to rid the world of poverty and hunger…to make the world a better place to live…and other such nonsensical ramblings…
